the writer, however, thinks that there are several advantages for college students involved in part-time jobs. firstly, part-time jobs provide opportunities for students to contact society so as to know the situation of the talent market. for instance, if a student works as a part-time governess, he or she will know what kind of professionals are urgently needed by the market and this will help him to choose a future job. secondly, there are some financial gains from part-time jobs. since the reform was carried out, institutions of higher education have started to collect tuition fees from students. needless to say this means another financial burden on parents. and part-time jobs can serve as a partial solution to this problem. last but not least, part-time jobs can cultivate students' sense of independence.

暑假里，我很早就把作业写完了，每天除了看电视就是玩游戏。妈妈看到我这样子生活很着急，我也觉得我的生活很乏味。一天妈妈从外面回来，拿回家了好多新衣服，妈妈说这是她到附近的制衣厂拿来的“活计”，把新衣服上的缝纫时留下的线头剪掉，打理好一件衣服1角钱。

衣服拿回家，妈妈就开始不停地翻找衣服里的线头并把它剪掉。我看着很有趣，就毛遂自荐要帮妈妈剪。妈妈开始不让我剪，说怕累着我了，又说怕我把衣服剪坏了。我说，第一我有责任替妈妈分担辛苦，第二我已经是个大人了，可以做些简单的事情了。我软磨硬泡了一会，妈妈才答应让我剪线头。并且妈妈说，我剪线头得的钱可以都归我，当我的零用钱。

一件衣服拿到手，妈妈便教我先找衣服外面的线头，然后把衣服翻过来，寻找衬里上的线头，并且都轻轻地把它们剪掉。一般来说袖口和腋下的线头较多。剪线头只是件简单的事情。看着不难。可是，我这么低头坐了一小会儿，脖子就开始酸痛，拿剪刀的手也沉重了起来。我本来想打退堂鼓。可是，我一想到刚才拍着胸脯毛遂自荐的样子就开不了口。妈妈看出来我累了，就说，你累了吗，累了就不干了。可是我不肯认输，于是坚持剪线头。剪了大约一个小时，我也只打理好三十几件衣服。我深深地体会赚钱的不容易。想到平时我乱花钱，心里就更惭愧了。最后，我实在干不动了，就停了下来。

接下来的整个暑假，我每天都在上午工作两个小时，下午工作一个小时，一个暑假下来，我赚了将近三百块钱，尽管钱不多，可是这是我自己赚来，并且足够我半个学期的零用。我感觉开心极了。

第二天，我就开始“上班”了。我一到四姨家，四姨就走了，留下我和升升。我本来想着这“工作”不难：这有什么，不就是照顾升升吗?很简单。谁知，没多久，厄运就来了。那天早上十点，我就遭到第一次“毒打”。写到这，你一定会吓一大跳。没关系，打我的人正是我的弟弟升升。他可不好惹，你只要一不满足他，他就要打人。为了照顾好弟弟，我过几天，就带他去体育馆或花园玩，就这样，我和弟弟平安地度过了7月份。

可就在8月份，麻烦又接二连三地来了。那天中午，我在睡觉，升升上到我的.床上玩。过了一会儿，我觉得不对劲，坐起来一看，原来他把屎拉在床上了，我手上还沾了许多。没办法，我只能坐起来，把他的屁股擦干净，床也擦干净，特别是擦床，费了我半天时间，这时我才知道什么叫辛苦。没想到，第二天，他又把屎拉到了地上。没办法我又擦干净了。可第三天他又拉到了地上，我生气了，眼睛瞪着他，大声批评他。可是，他竟然不怕我，还拿起他的小宝剑立刻向我刺来……
